The Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. (Matt 9: 37). Soon after accepting Christ in 1998, I had regular bible study with David Wong. With much encouragement and guidance from David, I launched into serving the Lord. As I recall, I was jobless then, so I had the time! I also remember well how the Lord blessed me with jobs soon after I started evangelism. One of the first group of people that I helped were the Nepalese foreign workers. My largest group of Nepalese workers (about 100 persons) was from Sungei Buloh. I shared the gospel with only those who were eager to find out more about God. I served them faithfully for about 5 years. I remember the times when I shared with some of my Nepalese friends at their places of work which could be in the lift room, in the guard house and often in secluded places so that their bosses could not find them. Serving the Lord means you have to be Faithful, Available and Teachable or FAT for short. Indeed, the Lord tested my faith many times. I remembered that often I did not have money for petrol; but the Lord provided! Almost weekly, I had to meet some of my ‘students’ as early as 7 a.m. on Saturdays. That meant, I had to get up at dawn, fetch David and then travel together to meet with the students. One of my best students, Beibi from Sg. Buloh is now serving in a church in Seremban. About three months ago (February 2009), I received a call from a long lost Nepalese brother Dampar Pun Bahadun who is now living in Bahrain. Dampar had called to inform me that his family had accepted Christ! I was really happy to receive the news. Although this piece of good news came some 8 years later, both KH and David have never lost hope for their past students. KH said, ‘We had the opportunity to touch their lives while they were here and we are glad that we did.’ KH has brought many to Christ. He does not stop there....he continues faithfully to preach the gospel to his friends, business associates and China students who are in Malaysia. ‘Results are not immediate, you must be strong in your faith, and throw the burden to God...’ says KH. |
